Chicago-based Cameo is suing the parent company of ChatGpt. Cameo says Open AI is engaged in trademark infringement because of a new service it's launching.

Cameo allows users to pay a fee to have celebrities record personalized greetings. OpenAI is launching a service that allows users to use AI to have celebrities record greetings, and it's calling the service Cameo. Users can also upload their own images, so their friends can make greetings using their likenesses.

In a lawsuit filed in California, Cameo alleges the Open AI product launched on its Sora platform is causing consumer confusion.
