CEDA Seeks Public Input Through Community Needs Assessment Survey

The Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County (CEDA) is encouraging residents across Cook County to participate in its Community Needs Assessment Survey, an effort designed to identify the most pressing challenges facing local communities and help shape future programs and services.

The survey invites residents, community partners and stakeholders to share their experiences with issues including housing affordability, energy costs, food access, employment, health care, transportation and other essential needs.

Dr. Troy O'Quin, CEDA's vice president of programs and public policy, said community participation is critical to ensuring the organization's resources and services reflect the needs of the people it serves.

"The Community Needs Assessment gives residents a direct voice in shaping the future of CEDA's programs," O'Quin said. "The feedback helps us strengthen existing services, identify gaps and advocate for resources that address the priorities communities are experiencing today."

Survey responses will help inform CEDA's strategic planning, guide program development and support the organization's efforts to secure funding and resources based on documented community needs.

In addition to the online survey, CEDA is hosting community listening sessions throughout Cook County to gather firsthand feedback from residents.

The sessions provide opportunities for community members to discuss local concerns and help ensure programs continue to evolve alongside changing community needs. CEDA recently held a listening session in Orland Township on June 29.

The next session is scheduled for July 8 in partnership with Illinois State Rep. Justin Slaughter, who represents the 27th District.

Residents are encouraged to complete the Community Needs Assessment Survey and participate in upcoming listening sessions to help shape CEDA's future priorities and services.
