
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- You can now catch the Chicago Park District's cherry blossom trees blooming in Jackson Park.
Nearly 200 pink and white cherry trees the initial stages of the blooming process.
The peak bloom period typically happens in late April or early May and can last anywhere from 6 to 14 days, depending on the weather.
To view the trees in bloom, you can visit the Museum of Science and Industry on Fridays through Sundays, when the museum will open its south facing doors that overlook Jackson Park.
You can also visit Jackson Park, which is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
