CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Chicago Blues Festival is expanding. The big festival will happen from June 10-12 in Millennium Park, but this year, there will be another blues music event in the Bronzeville neighborhood on June 12.

Bronzeville Blues will be held at Armstrong (Lillian Hardin) Park, 4433 S. St. Lawrence Ave. from noon to 8 p.m.

Bronzeville was once the epicenter of the blues.

It was where the Rolling Stones came to pay homage in 1981, performing with Muddy Waters at the Checkerboard Lounge.

"Bronzeville has a hundred year plus history of blues. It was the place where Muddy Waters and many of his contemporaries lived and worked and played," said Jeff Pinzino, the President of the Chicago Blues Revival.

The clubs are all gone now, but the sounds will echo through the neighborhood from the stage in Armstrong Park at 44th Street and St. Lawrence Avenue between noon and 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The event includes an all-star tribute to Muddy Waters.
