CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The White House has cancelled its traditional Easter Egg Roll again this year because of the pandemic, but Washington’s loss is Chicago’s gain.
They arrived mid-week at the offices of Erie Family Health Centers, community clinics in Chicago.
“In my 16 years at Erie Family Health Center, we’ve never had something so exciting as receiving two boxes from the White House,” said Adriana Diaz, director of employee engagement.
In the boxes were wooden Easter eggs, the kind they usually use at the White House Easter Egg Roll.
“They didn’t come with a packing slip. There’s probably 200 to 300 eggs,” Diaz said.
This year the White House sent its wooden Easter Eggs to community clinics around the country.
Diaz says most of the eggs sent here will go to people who have scheduled appointments at the COVID vaccination clinic this weekend in Humboldt Park.
