(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Now that Halloween is over, don’t toss your pumpkin. Consider smashing it in style this upcoming weekend.
“That pumpkin would make some great compost,” Liam Donnelly, CEO of WasteNot Compost, says.
His organization is partnering with community leaders in Andersonville on the “It’s a Smash” Eco-fest Pumpkin Smash Festival.
Participants will several ways to clobber their pumpkins into garden compost, Donnelly says.
It is BYOP – bring your own pumpkin. But attendees can also enjoy vendors, music and other activities during the event on Saturday.
