About 100 college students affiliated with the Chicago Housing Authority met Wednesday with representatives from major corporations and public agencies during a networking and recruitment event aimed at connecting scholars with internship and employment opportunities.
The Take Flight Networking & Recruitment Event brought students to CHA offices in downtown Chicago, where more than 20 corporate representatives shared career advice and discussed job pathways for 2026 and beyond.
Participating organizations included Northwestern Medicine, JPMorgan Chase, Chicago Police Department, Wells Fargo, Old National Bank, Enterprise, Lowe’s and Ernst & Young Markets, among others.
The afternoon event featured a structured networking session, career presentations and a raffle, with representatives speaking about their professional journeys and available roles within their organizations.
Students in attendance included current CHA scholarship recipients, recent graduates and alumni of CHA’s annual “Take Flight College Send-Off” program, which prepares students for the transition to college each August.
The Take Flight Networking & Recruitment Event was underwritten by Springboard to Success, the CHA’s nonprofit partner that supports education and career development initiatives for public housing residents.
