Chicago man arrested for series of home burglaries in Grundy County

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago man with a history of committing burglaries was arrested this morning by Grundy County Sheriff Detectives and is charged with a series of home break-ins there.

The Sheriff’s Office said three homes were burglarized in Grundy County on the same day late last month. Basement windows were broken and electronic items were stolen.

It said detectives with the assistance of some local residents, identified the alleged burglar as Kelvin Davis from Chicago.

He’s been charged with burglary five times. He’s gone to prison twice and was sentenced to fifteen years in 2007 and 2018.

Davis served a few on the last conviction and is currently on probation.

The Sheriff’s Office said he was arrested in Chicago and much of the property that was taken was recovered.
