(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The owners of a Chicago music venue say they have learned their lessons and will reopen next year.

The Hideout in the Bucktown neighborhood shut down in November, after a former program director wrote a social media post detailing what he said was a toxic work environment during his eight months at the club.

In a statement issued this week, owners of the Hideout say they have taken “a long look at who we are, what we're doing, and what the Hideout is all about" -- adding that the review was both intense and emotional.

The owners say they will reopen Jan. 10 with a new leadership structure, additional support and resources for staff and a greater emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

They liken the reopening to the start of a new chapter.
