(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Democratic National Committee has named its leadership team for the party's convention next summer and a Chicago native with many ties to the White House has been chosen to lead the DNC.
Minyon Moore has been an advisor to Presidents Joe Biden and Bill Clinton and CEO of the Democratic National Committee. She attended Chicago Vocational High School and University of Illinois at Chicago.
She got her start in politics by working with the Rainbow Push Coalition and on Jesse Jackson's 1988 presidential campaign. Minyon said in a tweet that she's honored and humbled to be working with the convention team.
The DNC will be held at the United Center and McCormick Place August 19-22 next year.
