With November temperatures dropping, Chicago is opening warming centers to help those who need them.
Temperatures have dipped below 32 degrees, so the city is activating warming areas at six community service centers located throughout Chicago beginning Friday, November 18.
All locations are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The Garfield Center at 10 South Kedzie is open 24/7 where you can get help with rent and utility issues.
Face coverings are required in the warming centers. Vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals are accepted inside.
Unless indicated, warming areas are not open when temperatures are higher than 32 degrees or on holidays.
For more information, residents should call 3-1-1 or visit www.chicago.gov/fss.
