The Chicago Police Department said thieves have been stealing entire ATMs from West Side businesses over the past few weeks.
The robbers, police said, have been using a brick or a crowbar to break into a business, and then they use the crowbar to remove the ATM from its mooring.
Once the ATM is ready to be moved, police said the suspects then carry the entire ATM out to a waiting vehicle: A 2020 silver/gray Dodge Charger with tinted windows and no plates, which has been used in most of the thefts.
There have been about nearly one dozen such robberies on Chicago's West Side over the past few weeks, police said.
