CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago Police Department recruit is facing charges after a weekend arrest.
Officers patrolling near the Field Museum late Saturday night spotted in illegally parked vehicle with a sweatshirt hiding its license plate. When they confronted the driver, Davin Jones, prosecutors say he became verbally aggressive and was eventually taken into custody.
A search of Jones's car also revealed a loaded hand gun. CWB Chicago reports that Jones, 27, who does not have a concealed carry license, is a Chicago Police Department recruit. Along with traffic citations, he was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor modification of a registration plate.
Bail was set at $1,500.
