CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The Chicago police are alerting West Side residents about a group of armed robbers that struck on three separate occasions earlier this month.

Police said the first incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on August 11 in Humboldt Park, on Kedzie near Chicago Avenue. Three Black men wearing masks came out of a black Chevy SUV that had temporary license plates and approached the victim as he was walking out of a Chase Bank, police said. Two of three were holding machine guns, while the third had a handgun, when they then took the victim's gold chains and money. Police said after the robbery the suspects were then picked up in the same SUV by a get-away driver.

The next day, August 12, a little after 11:30 a.m., the victim was walking in Homan Square, at Komensky and Roosevelt, when four men exited from, again, a black Chevy SUV with temporary plates, were carrying "Draco" rifles and robbed the victim of his or her gold chains and wallet. According to police, the four suspects re-entered their car and drove off.

Police said a third robbery occurred in the area three days later- August 15-, this time in South Austin, on Waller and West End, at around 10:15 p.m. It was there that detectives encountered a black Chevy SUV that they determined was the same car used in the previous two robberies. Police said the SUV was completely torched.

Police ask to call Area Four Detectives (312-746-8253) if they have any information pertaining to these three robberies.
