A busy stretch of Uptown was the scene of two shootings Monday night.

Chicago police say the victim got into an argument with a man he knew who shot him multiple times near Lawrence and Clark at around 8:30pm.

He died at the hospital.

The department says officers responding to that shooting chased a suspect near Clark and Argyle, when police say he turned his gun towards them and they shot him.

Corey Hains was watching tv in his apartment when he was jolted by the sound.

He tells WBBM out his window, he saw the gunman holding a gun in his right hand when police fired warning shots and told him to drop it before shooting.

Kristen Krute estimates there were 8-15 shots fired.

She was walking with her husband and their dog when they heard the initial gunshots and then hid when they saw police chasing the man.
