
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- St. Patrick's Day events and celebrations will be in full swing all over the city this weekend. Chicagoans have many options if they want to go out and have a good time.
Chicago River Dyeing: March 16, 10 a.m.
The best views to see the Chicago River turn green is from Upper Wacker Drive between Columbus and Fairbanks. During the dyeing of the river, bridges will be closed to spectators, but the Columbus, LaSalle and Orleans bridges will remain open for vehicular/pedestrian traffic.
Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade: March 16, 12:15 p.m.
The parade will start on Columbus Drive from Balbo Street to Monroe Street. Businesses on the Chicago Riverwalk will not open on parade day. All stairwells leading to the lower riverwalk will be closed.
Street closures will begin as early as 8 a.m. including Columbus Drive from Roosevelt Road to Wacker Drive and east/west streets in those boundaries. Streets within the boundary of Monroe Street between Michigan Avenue and DuSable Lake Shore Drive will be closed. DuSable Lake Shore Drive or State Street can be used as an alternate route.

Archer Avenue St. Patrick’s Day Parade: March 16, 12 p.m.
The parade starts on Archer Avenue and South Oak Park and proceeds south from Oak Park to Archer Avenue, east on Archer to Narragansett, south on Narragansett to 5600 South Narragansett.
South Side Irish St. Patrick's Day Parade: March 17, 12 p.m.
The parade will start from 103rd and Western Avenue in the Beverly/Morgan Park neighborhood and will continue south to 115th and Western Avenue. The parade will also be livestreamed here.
Parking restrictions in the area will begin at 8 a.m. and will remain until 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Drivers should expect parking restrictions on both sides of the street from 103rd to 112th Streets along Western Avenue.
Street closures along the parade route as well as the staging area located on Western Avenue from 99th to 103rd Streets and Bell to Maplewood Avenues may begin as early as 8 a.m.
Northwest Side Irish Parade: March 17, 12 p.m.
The parade will kick off from William J. Onahan School at 6634 West Raven St. and will run up south up Neola Avenue to Northwest Highway, then north to Harlem Avenue, ending at Harlem Avenue.
Northwest Highway will be closed to vehicles at 9 a.m. Parking restrictions will be in effect along the route beginning at 5 a.m. Both sides of the street on Neola, Raven, Northwest Highway, Normandy Avenue, Imlay, Neva, Palatine and Natoma along the route will be affected.
Public transportation is highly recommended.
