CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Chicago Police Department has opened an investigation after a Starbucks in the Loop was damaged by bullets early Monday morning.
Police responded to the scene around 2:40 a.m. and found two shattered windows, which appeared to have been struck by bullets.
Investigators said their early findings suggest that two suspects fired their weapons before fleeing the scene.
The store was closed at the time, and no one was injured.
Police said no one is in custody.
The Starbucks in question will be closed temporarily. It’s unclear how long it will remain closed.
