An outpouring of love is being shown for 26-year-old singer and musician Brendan Siddall, who Chicago police said died in a hit-and-run crash Saturday morning.
Siddall was a member of The Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus, a nonprofit performance group made up of LGBTQ+ singers and allies. They joined the group in 2018. They also served as President of CGMC’s Membership Council.
In a statement sent to WBBM by the group's Managing Director Kevin Corbett, Siddall is described as a "beautiful soul" whose "warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew them."
Corbett said Siddall "lit up the stage in several performances, sharing their talent and energy with joy and authenticity."
Siddall died after being hit by a car while walking across the northbound lanes Lake Shore Drive around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are still looking for the driver.
