CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A TV show that took us all on a tour of Chicago is celebrating a milestone this week.

It has one of the most iconic TV theme songs ever, and if you remember Chicago in the 1970s, it looks like a home movie.

The Bob Newhart Show made its debut on CBS on September 16th, 1972. The opening shows Newhart, who played a Chicago psychiatrist, walking through downtown before hopping on the "EL" to go home.

The condominium where Newhart lived on the show, at 5940 North Sheridan, recently was given a commemorative sign, and a statue of Newhart has been at Navy Pier for years.

Bob Newhart, who was born in west suburban Oak Park, turned 93 last week.
