NOTRE DAME, Ind. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — There are new mandates in place at the University of Notre Dame in preparation for the new school year.
The university will not require fully COVID-19 vaccinated students to wear masks when they start move-in weekend in two weeks.
Students and staff who are not fully vaccinated must wear masks and all visitors to campus regardless of vaccination status will be required to wear face coverings.
Those new guidelines came Friday as university officials said that 90% of the campus community has provided proof of COVID-19 vaccination and that 94% have required proof or received an exemption.
This comes as Indiana reported more than 2,000 COVID-19 cases in a single day for the first time in nearly four months. Campus move-in begins Aug. 20.
