(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Embattled south suburban Mayor Tiffany Henyard has promised to launch a podcast this week to answer questions and her critics.
Village trustees have called for Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard's spending, fundraising and other activities to be investigated. She is accused of spending village money on lavish trips with village staff.
The Illinois Attorney General's Office has told her charity, the Tiffany Henyard Cares Foundation, to stop taking donations, because it is not registered with the state.
Henyard has put out some promotional videos saying she is launching a weekly podcast to "set the record straight". She also encourages the public to reach out with questions, but to be respectful.
"I will give facts and put the mess to rest," she said in a Facebook post.
The Chicago Tribune cites sources who say federal authorities are looking into the accusations against Henyard.
