CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago Police Patrol Sergeant now faces firing for allegedly having a CTA employee detained on a Red Line platform nearly two years ago.

"Can I touch you and grab you the way you grabbed me?"

The body camera video of the incident on February 4, 2020 eventually made its way online.

CTA employee Martesa Lee was on the scene of a stabbing at the Jackson Red Line station.

She said she was mistreated by a Chicago police officer, and then was handcuffed and detained for obstruction when she reported the incident to Sgt. William Spyker.

The Civilian Office of Police Accountability recommends that Sgt. Spyker be fired, over the objections of Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown, who proposed a six month suspension.

A final decision rests with the Chicago Police Board.

Less than a month after the incident, Lee filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the city. It was settled for $57,000 and dismissed in June.
