(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Illinois health officials on Thursday reported 7,037 new cases of coronavirus, including 96 additional deaths.
The latest number of confirmed and probable cases comes as Illinois COVID-19 metrics have stabilized but also as officials fear families will mix households over the holidays, against medical guidelines.
The state's positivity rate on tests processed is less than 10%, which is lower than many neighboring states.
Illinois is currently under a ban on indoor restaurant and bar service to help prevent the spread of infections.
