CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A CPS student allegedly threatened to shoot a teacher Wednesday but no charges are going to be filed.
It happened shortly after 9:30 a.m. at Lincoln Park High School. The Sun-Times said a student, angry at being told to leave the auditorium by a teacher, responded with profanities and a shooting threat. There was no police officer in the building because the local school council had decided against having a school resource officer. Police weren't called to the school until later.
Police arrived after one in the afternoon. The principal of Lincoln Park High School sent out a letter to the school community that, after police completed their investigation, determined there was no safety threat.
The student who allegedly made the threat was allowed to stay in school.
