(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A southwest suburban man has died after an Illinois State Police trooper attempted to pull him over on the Dan Ryan Expressway Saturday night.
ISP said it was about 7:47 p.m. when a trooper attempted to stop a car on the Dan Ryan near 95th Street, the driver ran off. The trooper lost sight of the man.
Officials said they learned a person had died on the nearby Chicago Transit Authority tracks a short time later. The Cook County Medical Examiner has identified the man as a 30-year-old from Crest Hill.
The CTA suspended Red Line service between 95th Street and Garfield Boulevard for a few hours during the investigation.
