CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - CTA Blue Line service has resumed near O'Hare after debris from a four-vehicle crash on the Kennedy Expressway struck a train and landed on the tracks.
The CTA Blue Line was shut down between Jefferson Park and Rosemont for over an hour this morning after an inbound train hit the debris from a four-vehicle pileup on the Inbound Kennedy near Sayre. The crash occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. and two of the vehicles involved were dump truck and semi hauling metal.
No one on the train was injured.
The Chicago Fire Department was forced to turn off the power of the CTA Blue Line in both directions, so crews could remove the debris off the tracks.
Blue Line service resumed a little after 8:30 a.m., but with significant delays.
