CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A taste of Pink Floyd is now at The Adler Planetarium.

The new immersive show called The Dark Side of The Moon is in honor of the 50th anniversary of the band's classic album.

Mike Smail, Adler's director of theaters and digital experience, says the 43 minute show is the duration of the full album. He said patrons can enjoy the whole dome experience.

"People are gonna love it. It is a really nice balance between space imagery objects that you might expect to see in our regular planetarium shows- the moon of course, Planet stars, astronomical artifacts, but also a nice bit of Pink Floyd iconography prisms, rainbows, pyramids, things like that spread throughout as well."

The Dark side of the Moon full dome planetarium show is inside the Grainger Sky Theater which is a 180 degree 70 foot dome.

Smail said its an immersive experience like no other.

"You are in the show. You are flying through the rings of Saturn. You are orbiting the moon. You feel like you're there."
