CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The Democratic National Committee (DNC) used Trump Tower Sunday night as a way to antagonize the building’s namesake and Republican presidential candidate.
The night before the start of the Democratic National Convention, those along the Chicago River saw anti-Trump messages being projected on the façade of Trump Tower. Some of the well-lit phrases included “Trump-Vance: Weird as Hell” and “Project 2025 HQ.”
The DNC took responsibility for the tactic.
“All eyes are on Chicago, and tonight, everyone is seeing a preview of the contrast that will take center stage this week throughout the Democratic National Convention,” DNC Deputy Communications Director Abhi Rahman said in a statement.
The DNC reportedly booked a hotel room across from the building and used a powerful projector to display the messages.
“Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz have proven records of delivering for working families, and now, they’re running to lead our country into a bright future,” Rahman added. “Donald Trump and JD Vance are running on their backwards Project 2025 agenda, which would undermine working families and take away their freedoms.”
The Trump campaign has yet to comment on the stunt.
Beginning today, Chicago will play host to the DNC, with the premiere party event lasting until Thursday night.
