DePaul University announced that its new president will be Dr. Robert L. Manuel.
He's currently the head of the University of Indianapolis but says he's already impressed with several aspects of the DePaul community.
"The depth of talent and the extent of the social network that exists. So any problem that's gonna come up We'll have an expert in the community and an opportunity to connect me to people who can help solve that problem," Manuel said.
Dr. Manuel will take the helmet good Paul August 1 and says he'll work hard to promote inclusion in every way.
"I have to be the person that acts on behalf of those that are marginalized and have bias treated against," he said.
Manuel will succeed Dr. Gabriel Esteban, who has served as president since 2017 and announced his decision to step down last summer. Esteban will continue to serve as DePaul's president until July 31.
