(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Chicago Bears will play at home on Saturday afternoon as the "real feel" temperature is expected to be below zero throughout the game. But thousands of fans will still be there.

True, some will opt out, possibly because of the Bears' 3-11 record or the fact that it will be Christmas Eve or because of the bitter cold.

But there will be die-hards like season-ticket holder Omar Sofradzia, who has a self-described "goofy-little" Facebook page for Bears season-ticket holders.

"Last week's Bears game was pretty cold. Actually, it was kind of a good tune-up, kind of a reminder of, okay, one more layer would have been perfect," he told WBBM Newsradio.

Sofradzia says there's something very Chicago about surviving a frigid Bears game and there's a special camaraderie among fans. The team will be taking on the Buffalo Bills, while fans will take on the elements. A shared sacrifice.

"There's a lot of people, you know, sharing their hand warmers and toe warmers and blankets, looking out for each other. Just that whole thing of, 'Yeah, we're all this stupid. We all chose to be here,'" Sofradzia said.

What's his outdoor dress plan for Saturday? All out, he says.

"It's snow pants, it's thermal underwear. Go with anti-perspirant deodorant on your feet because your feet get cold from your sweat freezing. So, if you can get your feet to sweat less, supposedly they'll keep you warmer.

"Lined boots. Big Arctic, Siberian Huskie hat."

Sofradzia says he's never left a Bears game because of cold temperatures.

"I can't believe there's a 3-11 team that's keeping me on the edge of my seat and making it worth going out and risking frostbite," he said.
