School District U-46 employee accused of sexually assaulting student

STREAMWOOD, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- An Elgin man is being held on bail for allegedly assaulting a student at a school where he works.

Magdiel Perez, 25 is charged with Criminal sexual assault, Aggravated criminal sexual abuse, Aggravated criminal sexual abuse, and Child luring, according to the Kane County State Attorney's office.


Between May 1, 2022 and August 30, 2022, Perez had sexual contact with the victim, who was younger than 18 years old, said Kane County State Attorney Jamie Mosser.

On at least one occasion, he allegedly drove the victim to his home in Elgin, where the sexual contact occurred.

Perez worked for School District U-46 and met the victim while the victim was a student at Tefft Middle School in Streamwood.

Bail was set at $200,000 with 10 percent to apply to bond.
