Adopting a pet is a great way to start the new year. Jera thinks so! This 2-month-old Labrador Retriever mix came to PAWS along with her 6 littermates. While all her siblings are equally as adorable, Jera likes to think she steals the show with her wonderful personality.
After she tires herself out from playing, Jera loves cuddling up for pets. Jera would love to find a forever home with a family who will give her with a lifetime of cookies, belly rubs, ear scratches and tons of love.

'New Year New Friend' adoption event: Dec. 26 - Dec. 31
The holidays are joyous, but they also usher in the coldest and most dangerous season for animals living on the street. Every adoption makes room for another animal seeking shelter. That's why PAWS Chicago is waiving adoption fees on select pets through the end of the year during their "New Year New Friend" adoption event at the Lincoln Park adoption center. Visit the PAWS Chicago website to learn more. Look for the "New Friend" banner on the profiles of the pets who are eligible to have their fees waved. Walk-ins are also welcome.
PAWS Chicago will be open on New Year's Eve, December 31 from noon to 5 p.m.
