CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A poll by Alderman Brendan Reilly finds downtown residents are not fans of the idea of NASCAR returning to Chicago.
Almost six out of ten of those surveyed said street closures negatively impacted them, while just over half said they don’t support another NASCAR street race here.
Crain’s Chicago Business reported the results of a survey conducted by Alderman Reilly, but noted the online poll was not limited to people who live within the 42nd ward. Of those who responded, only 37% said they want NASCAR to come back and 38% said they were satisfied with outreach to address problems.
Reilly said he’ll use the results to guide his thoughts on whether the city should continue to host.
