CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – “Beyond belief” is how the DuPage County State's Attorney described where an alleged drug dealer was hiding his gun.

Police involved in a drug investigation in Woodridge were executing a search warrant at the home of 22-year-old Tenzell Terry on the 8100 block of Route 53.

State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said they searched the bedroom of his 1-year-old baby and found a loaded Glock handgun with an extended magazine and a round in the chamber under the mattress of the baby’s crib.

He said they also found heroin, fentanyl and cocaine – a combined total of about 60-grams - in a closet in the bedroom.

“The very idea that someone would hide a loaded weapon with one bullet in the chamber and an extended magazine under a mattress where his baby slept, as is alleged in this case, is just beyond belief,” Berlin said.

Terry, who already had a felony conviction, is facing six felony charges related to the drugs and the gun.
