(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Former Chicago Bears defensive end Robert Quinn is facing criminal charges after he allegedly struck several vehicles and battered a woman in South Carolina earlier this week, according to published reports.
Police in Summerville, S.C. tell news outlets that Quinn was driving his truck Tuesday when he drove off the roadway and stuck several vehicles.
A woman was sitting in one of the vehicles, in her driveway, when it was struck by Quinn, reports WCIV, citing arrest affidavits. When she confronted Quinn, he allegedly offered to buy her a beer before grabbing her by the shoulders and striking her “with an open hand across the face."
Quinn faces multiple charges, including third-degree assault and battery and four counts of hit and run, WCIV reported.
Another TV station in the region, WCSC-TV, said Quinn turned himself in on Friday morning and attended a bond hearing in municipal court. Quinn was given a $155 personal recognizance bond, the station reported.
Quinn, 33, holds the Bears franchise record for the most sacks in a single season. He played for Chicago from 2020 to 2022. He is listed as a free agent.
