BENSENVILLE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The Fenton High School District School Board in Bensenville is considering an outside review regarding how allegations of sexual misconduct by a former teacher were handled.
“We are committed to rebuilding trust and understanding. We also acknowledge the gravity of this situation and the frustrations you may be experiencing,” wrote Interim Superintendent Sam Bensten.
Frustrations reached the boiling point in recent weeks, with parents and students packing board meetings.
“This is a disgusting, disgusting matter,” one man said at a recent meeting.
“Yor complicity with the terminated administrator is absolutely repulsive,” a woman said.
The former teacher is alleged to have sexually abused students for years.
He was fired last month. No criminal charges have been filed, so far.
Superintendent James Ongtengco was put on paid administrative leave.
