CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A CPD bomb squad was called to check out a food truck on the West Side Tuesday night after someone threw an explosive into the vehicle.

The food truck was parked on the 3300 block of West Roosevelt Road, when, police said, a man approached and lit what was later determined to have been a firework and tossed it inside and ran off.

The explosion caused a laceration to the left leg of a man who was inside the truck. He refused medical attention.

The bomb squad was called as a precaution.
