The IRS, the AARP and the Illinois Department of Revenue all offer tax service for free to people based on their age and/or their annual income.
Taxpayers can go to the I-D-O-R's offices in Chicago, Des Plaines, Fairview Heights, Marion, Rockford, and Springfield to receive assistance.
