(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A 31-year-old Chicago man who authorities say tried to rob a beverage truck driver at a store in Naperville with a semi-automatic rifle is now facing multiple criminal charges.
The driver was unloading pallets of liquor outside the Jewel-Osco store on Odgen Avenue at about 9 a.m. Tuesday, when police say a man dressed in black and armed with a 9mm semi-automatic rifle approached him and tried to rob him.

Police said the gunman threatened the driver, saying, "It's not worth your life."
The driver ran and yelled for help, saying, "The guy's got a gun."
The suspect got into a Chevy Suburban and sped off -- but not before a picture was taken. Police say a witness followed the suspect and snapped a photo of the license plate.
Officers stopped the SUV minutes later and arrested the suspect, 31-year-old Frederick Holmon. He's now facing charges of attempted armed robbery with a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
Two other people were in the SUV, according to police, though it's not clear if they are being charged in the case.
Holmon remains in custody on a $75,000 bond.
