CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Harper College will serve as a COVID-19 mobile testing site on Monday, Dec. 7, as part of the Illinois Department of Public Health’s efforts to sponsor community test sites throughout the state.

Drive-through and walk-up testing will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in parking lots 2 and 3 of the college’s main campus, located at 1200 W. Algonquin Rd., in Palatine. Vehicles may enter the campus through the main entrance on Algonquin Road. As long as supplies remain, anyone in line at 4 p.m. will be tested, IDPH said.

There is no cost for testing. Individuals should bring their insurance card if they have one, however insurance is not necessary. Testing is open to all regardless of residency.

According to IDPH, a simple nasal swab is used. Individuals do not need to be sick or exhibiting symptoms to be tested. Test results are provided by phone within four to seven days.

Along with IDPH, Harper College is working in partnership with Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital to be a COVID-19 testing location. For more information, visit dph.illinois.gov/covid19.
