CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A west suburban county has set up an online portal for people who want to get their COVID vaccine.
The Kane County Health Department has launched a web page that will allow people to make appointments to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
Right now appointments are limited to Phase 1B: people age 65 and older, along with frontline essential workers, as designated by the State of Illinois. The vaccine locations page can be accessed through the Kane County Health Department website at KaneHealth.com.
"The supply of vaccine is still very limited," said Kathy Fosser, interim executive director, Kane County Health Department. "We realize that appointments are difficult to schedule at this time. As the vaccine supply increases, appointment availability will also increase. We appreciate the public's patience as the vaccination drive progresses."
The health department is working with libraries, senior care organizations, and towns to help seniors and others who need assistance or have limited access to technology.
