(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Those who are planning to attend the annual Lake in the Hills Rockin Rib Fest will not be allowed to wear a certain clothing item this year, due to what festival organizers described as safety concerns.
Lake in the Hills officials voted to ban face coverings at the upcoming Rockin Rib Fest. The rules will specifically apply to masks, including skeleton masks, which cover a large portion of a person’s face.
Any mask needed for health reasons will still be allowed.
The Lake in the Hills Police Department recommended the face covering ban, which told the Northwest Herald that the move was part of an updated safety and security measure.
The Rockin Rib Fest will take place from July 11 – 14. It’s the first event to have a carnival since the Cabin Fever Carnival was shut down in April due to fights.
