Aurora’s temporary overnight warming center is getting a public health boost from a local business.
Aurora’s temporary overnight warming center opens when overnight temps are forecast for below 32 degrees, so you know the center is open this week. In the past day, Mayor John Laesch says he’s secured 360-thousand dollars worth of personal protective equipment from Teinnovations, a packaging company in Aurora.
The PPE includes face masks, gloves and hand sanitizer. The idea is to protect volunteers and those who would access the warming center from the spread of some of illnesses that are common during the winter. The mayor calls the PPE donation one of the largest in Aurora’s history.
