A bar crawl is giving people a chance to learn about the history of a neighborhood on Chicago's Northwest Side in a different way.

A group called Logan Square Preservation has created what it calls a "pastport."

From June 1st to July 6th, people are encouraged to visit 8 historic taverns at their own pace and get their "pastports" stamped at each one.

Marcy Marzuki is one of the organizers.

"The places we've chosen to be on this first tour are some of the oldest bars with the deepest history. Some of them have been held by the same family for decades. Some of them the buildings are just really early 1800s taverns. There's lots of interesting history to learn, Marzuki said.

The tour includes:

Logan Arcade, 2410 W. Fullerton Ave.
Weegee's Lounge, 3659 W. Armitage Ave.
Bob Inn, 2609 W. Fullerton Ave.
Fireside Bowl, 2646 W. Fullerton Ave.
Green Eye Lounge, 2403 W. Homer St.
O's Tap, 2044 N. Western Ave.
Whirlaway Lounge, 2609 W. Fullerton Ave.
The Double Urban Lounge, 3545 W. Fullerton Ave.

The tour is limited to members of Logan Square Preservation, or people who pay $20 dollars to join.
