(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Mayor Lori Lightfoot left Chicago City Hall for the last time as mayor on Friday after a single term in office.
Lightfoot and her wife, Amy Eshleman, waved to crowds as they followed the Shannon Rovers pipe band through the main lobby. A vintage Cadillac convertible waited outside to take her away.

“She’s my mayor and I love her,” said Josephine Mack, one of hundreds of Chicagoans who came to say goodbye. The Austin resident said she wanted to see Lightfoot one last time and commended her for her time in office.
“I don’t care what anybody says. She has done a lot for this city in such a short time. I’ll miss her,” Mack said.

In her final days in office, Lightfoot has been busy. On Wednesday, she issued an emergency declaration following a surge of migrants to Chicago. Thursday, Lightfoot issued an extensive executive order that she said will move the city toward more environmental justice for all Chicagoans.
On Monday, successor Brandon Johnson will become the city's 57th mayor.
