(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Charges have now been filed in this week’s home invasion murder of a 40-year-old woman in the southwest suburbs.
Willie Banks, 47 was first taken into custody Wednesday night by Joliet Police. He was also taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to an injury on his hand.
Authorities determined the injury was the result of him breaking a window at the home of Alicia Cole, 40 located in the 1100 block of Westshire Drive in Joliet. Banks is accused of forcible entry and fatally shooting the woman inside.
He is now charged with first degree murder, home invasion, Unlawful Use or Possession of a Weapon by Felon, and Violation of Bail Bond.
