LANSING, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A shooting at a south suburban Walmart parking lot has led to at least one charge being filed against a 21-year-old man.

Gunshots were reported about 4:20 p.m. Thursday at the parking lot of Walmart, 17625 Torrence Avenue in Lansing, according to Lansing police.

Demitrus Ross is accused of firing a gun at another person, then running from the area until officers arrested him in a parking lot in the 2200 block of 175th Street, police said. Officers also found a firearm nearby.

No one was injured in the shooting.

Ross, who police said did not possess a concealed carry license or a Firearm Owner’s Identification Card, was charged with one felony count of aggravated discharge of a firearm.

Other charges are pending review by the Cook County state’s attorney’s office, police said.

Ross was scheduled to appear in bond court Saturday.
