(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Park Forest man has been charged with multiple felony weapons counts after Cook County Sheriff’s Police investigators say he lied about having guns.

State Police had found Paul Krumrie, 37 to be a “Clear and Present Danger,” and revoked his Firearm Owners’ Identification Card.

Sheriff’s investigators notified him that he could no longer be in possession of firearms and they’d transfer them.

The Sheriff’s Office said Krumrie told them he didn’t have any guns and then they learned that he planned to take firearms to Florida.

Investigators saw Krumrie loading a rifle bag into a moving truck outside his home.

Krumrie and another man drove away without seatbelts on, according to the sheriff’s office, and were pulled over on I-57.

Investigators recovered eight firearms from the vehicle, including a loaded handgun under the passenger seat where Krumrie was sitting and 157 rounds of ammunition as well.

He’s been charged with eight counts of possession of a firearm with a revoked FOID and one count of possession of ammunition without a valid FOID card.
