CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man died on the South Side Friday night while driving a gunshot victim to the hospital.
Chicago Police said the 33-year-old driver was on his way to the University of Chicago Medical Center when he crashed into a vehicle and then a pole at 47th and King Drive. Shortly after 10:30 p.m., he had picked up a 33-year-old man who was shot multiple times while on a sidewalk at 40th and Prairie.
The driver was transported to University of Chicago but succumbed to his injuries.
The gunshot victim was also sent to the University of Chicago. He's listed in fair condition, with wounds to his left hand and left foot.
There were no other injuries reported in the crash, police said.
