CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Bond has been denied for a man charged with killing an innocent bystander while allegedly shooting at his ex-girlfriend over the weekend.
Prosecutors said 41-year old Charlie Moreno was trying to kill his 27-year old ex-girlfriend who had broken up with him in June after a tumultuous eight months together. She was working at Curramba Colombian Restaurant Bar in the 2700 block of West Division, and, on Friday night, when she stepped out for a cigarette break, Moreno allegedly drove up and began shooting at her.
One of the bullets went into the bar and killed a 50-year-old man. Three days before, prosecutors alleged Moreno shot at and missed his ex-girlfriend as she sat in a car. He's charged with murder and attempted murder.
